Professor Ehsani
received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan
before joining the Department of Civil Engineering at the University
of Arizona in 1982. His research has focused on seismic behavior of
structures and innovative approaches to repair and retrofit civil
structures with fiber composite (FRP) materials. These studies have
been published in numerous technical papers in Earthquake Spectra
and the ACI and ASCE Journals.
Dr. Ehsani is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers
(ASCE) and the American Concrete Institute (ACI). A past director
of the Arizona Chapter of ACI, Professor Ehsani has served as President
of the Structural Engineers Association of Arizona. He is a registered professional engineer in Arizona and California. |

Dr. Ehsani has been featured on CNN, National Public Radio, the
History Channel, and in other media, including Engineering News
Record (ENR), for his expertise on strengthening of structures.
Dr. Ehsani is in demand particularly for his experience with earthquakes,
terrorist attacks, and other potential structural disasters. He
holds several patents, including one on strengthening masonry structures
with FRP.
